Growing Sprouts Toy Library was created by a pediatric speech therapist who saw a gap in affordable, purposeful play. While working closely with children and families, I found myself purchasing my own materials to ensure quality sessions—but the costs quickly added up.
Many parents shared their desire to support their child’s development at home, but the price of therapeutic toys and the lack of clear guidance left them feeling unsure. I began creating simple lesson plans using toys they already owned, focusing on speech, language, fine motor, and gross motor milestones.
Growing Sprouts was born from that experience: a way to share engaging, developmentally appropriate toys—paired with expert-backed guidance—with families everywhere. Our goal is to reduce waste, support childhood development, and empower parents with the confidence to help their children grow.
Meet Kacie
As a licensed speech-language pathologist based in Arizona. I’ve had the joy and privilege of working with infants, children, and teens—supporting their development through child-led therapy, and parent-centered education. My work focuses on both speech and feeding therapy, always with the goal of empowering families to feel confident supporting their child’s growth at home.
I became a speech-language pathologist because I believe communication is one of the most powerful tools we have. One of my favorite quotes is:
“If all my possessions were taken from me with one exception, I would choose to keep the power of communication, for by it I would soon regain the rest.”
There’s nothing more meaningful to me than witnessing a child say “mama” for the first time, express “I love you,” or proudly pronounce the name of their favorite video game so they can share it with friends. Whether I’m teaching words, sounds, or signs—I love helping little humans connect with the world around them.
Why I Started Growing Sprouts Toy Library
In my work as a speech-language pathologist and founder of Growth Pediatric Therapy, I often found myself purchasing high-quality toys and tools to help the children I worked with meet their therapy goals. I’ve always believed that the most effective way children learn is through play—it’s how they explore, connect, and grow.
But I realized many families didn’t have access to these same materials at home. Some parents wanted to help but felt unsure how to support their child’s development, while others already had toys but weren’t sure how to use them to build speech, language, or motor skills.
That’s when the idea for Growing Sprouts Toy Library began to take root. I started designing custom lesson plans using toys families already owned, showing them how to turn playtime into powerful developmental moments.
Now, Growing Sprouts is a sustainable toy rental library that brings that same approach to more families. We offer curated toy rental and guided lesson plans, all created by licensed speech, occupational, and physical therapists.
Our goal is to reduce waste, help children thrive in their milestones, and guide parents in turning everyday play into meaningful growth. Because communication, play, and learning shouldn’t be a parent’s struggle—they should be a shared joy.
